Two techniques. Both made by hand.
Some ViBo bags are built the way rope baskets have always been built: a single cord, coiled tightly and stitched round after round, from base to rim. Others are hand-crocheted, stitch by stitch, from yarn, raffia, or another natural fiber. Both are slow work: a bag takes hours, not minutes, but that's what gives each piece its structure and a texture no machine-made bag can fake.
Because each one is made after you order it, you choose exactly how yours looks before it's even started.
The rope is an eco-friendly cotton braid over a polyester core; the crocheted pieces use yarn or raffia, chosen to suit each design. All of it is chosen for how well it holds its shape over time.
